How to merchandise a flavoured coffee capsule range

6 min read

For importers, distributors & retailers

A real coffee and tea shop with packaged products arranged across wooden shelves.

01

Give the shelf a sentence

A shopper should understand the structure before reading every box. The shelf might say classic espresso first, then warm dessert flavours, then brighter fruit-led profiles. It might instead lead with one distinctive hero and organise everything else around intensity. What matters is that the arrangement can be described in one sentence and repeated across stores.

DORO’S includes classic, nutty, caramel, chocolate, creamy and fruity directions. Showing all of them at equal volume can turn useful variety into visual noise. An edited first range often communicates more confidence than a complete catalogue placed without hierarchy.

02

Use flavour families as navigation

Group coffees by the decision a customer is making. Hazelnut Nougat and Honey Walnut can sit within a nutty family; Caramel Almond and Caramel can support a sweeter caramel direction; Coconut Choco and Choco Raspberry show two very different ways into chocolate-led flavour.

The product names do the sensory work. Shelf copy should not imply that a named flavour ingredient is physically present unless the product label confirms it. Clear flavour-profile language is both more accurate and easier to maintain across markets.

03

Protect the repeat-purchase anchor

Discovery brings attention, but the familiar espresso often earns the repeat visit. Keep Espresso, Ristretto or Lungo visually legible rather than burying the classics among louder flavour names. A customer who enters through novelty should be able to see where the everyday cup lives next.

  • Use one hero product to stop the eye.
  • Limit the first flavour edit to genuinely different profiles.
  • Keep classic espresso choices together and easy to compare.
  • Place serving ideas near flavours that benefit from a recipe demonstration.
  • Measure sell-through by SKU and family before expanding the shelf.

04

Design for replenishment as well as launch

The opening display is only useful if store teams can restore it quickly. Fix the order of families, define the number of facings and make the distinction between aluminium and High-Barrier lines visible. Photograph the approved shelf and use the same plan when new doors are added.

When you contact DORO’S, share the number and type of retail locations, the shelf space available and whether the market already buys flavoured capsules. That context helps turn a broad portfolio into a workable first edit.
