Coffee capsules for hotels, offices and hospitality

01

Design the service before choosing the range

A hotel room, an office kitchen and a staffed hospitality counter may use the same capsule shape, but they do not create the same service. Begin with who makes the coffee, how many choices they can reasonably navigate, where capsules are stored and who notices when the last box is opened.

Self-service environments reward immediate recognition and a forgiving core cup. Staffed settings can carry more explanation, tasting notes and recipe-led serves. The range should match the amount of attention available at the moment of preparation.

02

Keep the core offer disciplined

A useful starting point is one short, fuller espresso; one longer or softer cup; and one clearly different choice such as decaffeinated or flavoured coffee. More options may suit a premium lounge or tasting menu, but every additional SKU creates another stock position and another decision at the machine.

  • Choose cup profiles that match the serviceware and programmed pour sizes.
  • Keep decaffeinated coffee visually distinct from the caffeinated range.
  • Use flavours where the venue can explain or demonstrate them.
  • Confirm storage space at the point of service and in back stock.
  • Assign replenishment responsibility before launch.

03

Treat equipment and capsules as one system

A capsule order should not be planned independently of the machines that will brew it. Confirm compatibility, the number of service points, water access, cleaning routine and the cup sizes expected in use. For portable service, DORO’S Pocket Espresso offers a separate format for places where a fixed counter is not the brief; its documented specifications should be reviewed for the intended operation.

Sample the complete setup exactly as guests or staff will use it. A cup approved on one machine and pour setting is not automatically the same service on another.

04

Make replenishment visible

Track consumption by location and SKU rather than dividing a total order evenly. One office may favour a longer cup while another moves through espresso quickly. Hotel rooms, meeting areas and lounges can show different patterns within the same property.

Share the number of service points, expected users, existing equipment and preferred cup styles in your enquiry. That creates a useful basis for discussing a focused capsule range and the path to reorder.
